A New Species of Cranchiid Squid, Phasmatopsis Lucifer, from the Gulf of Mexico
A new species of cranchiid squid, Phasmatopsis lucifer is described from the Gulf of Mexico. Its relationship to the genera Phasmatopsis and Taonius is discussed and despite certain characters not common to Phasmatopsis, it is placed in that genus until more information is available.
