Free Content Studies on Fishes of the Family Ophidiidae.—I. A New Species of Lepophidium from the Caribbean Sea

A new species of Lepophidium (Pisces: Ophidiidae) is described from the western Caribbean. The holotype of Lepophidium jeannae Fowler is redescribed and additional features discussed. Other species of Lepophidium are briefly discussed and the first gill arch of various Atlantic species is illustrated.
