A Prenaupliosoma Stage in the Larval Development of the Spiny Lobster, Panulirus Argus (Latreille), from Puerto Rico
A prenaupliosoma stage is described for Panulirus argus (Latreille), which is similar to that described by Von Bonde (1936) for Jasus lalandii (Milne Edwards). Further investigation will be needed to establish whether this stage occurs only within the egg, but the possibility exists that it might be released by the action of the fifth dactyl of the female, while tending the eggs.
