Abstract:Syncyamus pseudorcae, taken from Pseudorca crassidens in the Gulf of Mexico, appears to be the most specialized cyamid yet discovered. It is characterized by reduction and fusion of the mouthparts and by dorsal fusion of pereion 6 and 7. Isocyamus delphinii (Guérin) is reported from the same host.
