Abstract:

Traditional modes of researching health service practice and policy have been criticised in terms of timeliness and relevance by potential users, and of poor uptake by researchers themselves. Newer models, based on principles of collaboration and integration, are being used in some healthcare settings, and there is evidence that these approaches help to bridge the gap that exists between 'research' and 'practice'. This article describes the work of a small research team within the former NHS Modernisation Agency, appropriately named Research into Practice, and reflects on its experience of using collaborative and integrative approaches to its work.

Los usuarios potenciales han criticado en cuanto a su oportunidad y relevancia los modos tradicionales de investigar la consulta en el Servicio de Salud Pública y la política, y también han sido criticados por parte de los mismos investigadores como de pobre conocimiento. Los modelos más nuevos, basados en principios de colaboración e integración, se están usando en algunos marcos de asistencia sanitaria, y existe evidencia de que estos acercamientos ayudan a la unión del hueco que existe entre investigación y consulta. Este artículo describe el trabajo de un pequeño equipo de investigación dentro de la anterior Agencia de Modernización en el Sistema Nacional de Salud, llamado de manera apropiada, Investigación en Práctica, y el equipo reflexiona sobre su experiencia en el uso de los acercamientos de colaboracionismo e integridad en su trabajo.

On a critiqué les modes de recherche traditionnels de pratique et de politique du service de santé en termes d'opportunisme et de pertinence par des utilisateurs potentiels, et de faible assimilation de la part des chercheurs mêmes. De nouveaux modèles, basés sur des principes de collaboration et d'intégration, sont utilisés dans le cadre de certains soins de santé, et il existe des preuves que ces approches aident à combler l'écart qui existe entre « recherche » et « pratique ». Cet article décrit le travail d'une petite équipe de chercheurs à l'intérieur de l'ancienne NHS Modernisation Agency, aussi connue à juste titre sous le nom de Research into Practice, et réfléchit sur son expérience de l'utilisation d'approches de collaboration et d'intégration pour son travail.
