Abstract:

The primary objective of the paper is theoretical and experimental investigation of damping and force characteristics of the suspension with friction wedges of different configuration. Analytical expressions are obtained that show the dependence of relative friction coefficient, warping resistance, magnitude and position of forces acting on inclined surfaces on suspension parameters. Analytical expressions are verified using static tests with experimental bogies. Results allowed working out the algorithm and developing the friction wedge providing rational friction, warping resistance and durability of polymer pads on its inclined surfaces.
