Abstract:

Since light-matter interaction takes different processes and mechanisms depending on the light energy, the conversion process of light into thermal energy is governed by different factors at different energy levels of light. The thermal process of light-matter interaction is studied from the standpoint of quantum molecular dynamics in order to understand how the light energy is converted into thermal energy and which factors dominate the process at different energy levels. In particular, in matter that has weakly bonded electrons such as free electrons in metallic materials, the behavior of those electrons contributes much to the thermal process.
