Abstract:

In this article, a new all-optical logic device by using the interaction of spatial solitons has been proposed. The operation of the proposed device is based on the evolution of a nonlinear guided wave propagating along two parallel tapered waveguides with a Kerr-type nonlinear medium between them. The numerical results show that this device could be potentially useful in several all-optical logic functions (AND, OR, and XOR).
