Abstract:

An overcurrent coordination methodology is proposed for non-constant, two-source currents in distribution systems with distributed generation. Results are given in graphical form, where the potentiality of the methodology can be assessed for circuit breaker/fuse, fuse/fuse, and recloser/fuse coordination. The method can be applied to any overcurrent coordination study, including non-constant, cyclic loads.

Keywords: distributed generation; fault current; fuse; recloser; power system protection; protective device coordination
