Abstract:

This paper deals with critical lines identification on voltage collapse analysis. It is known, from the literature, that voltage collapse is a local phenomenon that spreads around an initial neighborhood. Therefore, identifying the system critical bus plays an important role on voltage collapse prevention. For this purpose, the system critical transmission lines should also be identified. In this paper, these issues are addressed, yielding reliable results in a short computational time. Tests are done with the help of the IEEE-118 bus and the Southeastern Brazilian systems.
