Abstract:

Situated action is a new approach to artificial intelligence that has thus far functioned without any explicit underlying theoretical foundation. As a result, many researchers in artificial intelligence have misunderstood the goals and claims of situated action. In order to rectify this situation, we provide an explicit formulation of the theoretical foundations of situated action.
