There is no standard practice for classifying strong ozone fluctuations over middle latitudes. Normally attention is paid mainly to the short-term strong decline of total ozone (ozone mini-holes) over specific regions. Meanwhile positive total ozone fluctuations are also of significant interest. Here we report on the overall statistics of total ozone anomalies over the European continent during the whole period of observation.
