Spatial InfraRed Imaging Telescope III (SPIRIT III) Convert 6.2 interferometer certification
The procedures and data analyses used to support the certification of the Spatial InfraRed Imaging Telescope III (SPIRIT III) Convert 6.2 interferometer software are discussed. The certification procedure is characterized by an in-depth analysis of spectral line and extended source data to obtain a detailed understanding of the operation of the instrument and verify the performance of the Convert software. Full end-to-end processing is performed to verify the operation of the Convert software as it would be used in a Principal Investigator-Data Analysis Center (PI-DAC) environment. Data analysis includes both ground calibration and on-orbit data. Comparisons of measured data with the Air Force Research Laboratory's Fast Atmospheric Signature Code (FASCODE)-calculated atmospheric data are also discussed.
