Abstract:

A simple and reliable class E inverter for induction heating applications is proposed. Its topology presents only one power electronic switch. Control strategy is based in switch current sensing. The circuit model behaviour is analysed, and the limits of normal operation and components aspects (construction, stresses etc.) are also discussed. Computer simulations are presented and compared with results measured on the operational prototype, in order to validate both the theoretical model and computer simulation.
