Abstract:

Current-voltage characteristics of a bilayered structure of acridine orange doped poly(vinyl alcohol) and crystal violet doped poly(vinyl alcohol) have been investigated. Current-voltage characteristics exhibit the rectifying property of the bilayered structures. The best rectifying characteristics have been found for a doping concentration of 5% weight of dyes. In the high voltage range, the I-V characteristics are linear in the forward and reverse directions with I / I 14. A F R complex tunnelling mechanism is thought to be operating in the presence of traps and interface states.
