Hypersensitivity to foot-rot vaccine
After a long period wherein this particular condition had not been seen and therefore virtually forgotten, it came as a reminder to have a more serious than usual occurrence recently in the South Island. The original cases in 1972/73 soon after the introduction of foot-rot vaccines resulted in quite severe lameness in a large percentage of the flock within 2 days of vaccination and characterised by a severe scald which could have progressed to foot abscess if left untreated…
