Abstract:

Attempted preparation of phosphono containing trans-1,2-difluoro-1-phenyldimethylsilyl ethylenes R2P(O)CF = CFSiMePh 3 by deprotonation of HFC = CFSiMe2Ph 2 followed by acylation with R2P(O)Cl was unsuccessful. However, acylation of the lithium salt of 2 with R2PCl gave R2PCF = CFSiMe2Ph 4, which on subsequent oxidation with hydrogen peroxide or tert-butylhydroperoxide afforded a series of compounds trans-R2P(O)CF = CFSiMe2Ph 3 in good yields.
