Abstract:

A recently proposed statistical approach to the permittivity e of water in the high electric field E (I.?Danielewicz-Ferchmin, A.R. Ferchmin. Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. , 6, 1332 (2004)) has been applied to water at T ?=?293?K subjected to external pressure. Results are shown in the form of the set of isobars e( E ), which reveal abrupt falls at E ~10 9 ?V?m -1 .
