Abstract:

The stability constants of the complexes between dioxovanadium(V) ion and l-asparagine, at different ionic strengths ranging from 0.1 to 1.0 mol dm-3 and 25°C were determined using a combination of potentiometric and spectrophotometric techniques. Sodium perchlorate solution was used to maintain the ionic strength. The parameters based on the formation constants were calculated and the dependence of protonation and the stability constants on ionic strength are described by a semi-empirical Debye-Huckel type equation.
