The S-approximation method proposed by Stepanova [Inv. Probl. Sci. Eng. 16 (5) (2008), pp. 547-566] is applied for solving interpretation problems when the sphericity of the Earth is taken into account. A new method of finding stable approximate solutions of linear algebraic equation systems is described.
