Central Peak in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3/9% PbTiO3 Relaxor Studied by 90° Brillouin Scattering

Abstract:

The 90° Brillouin scattering experiment of the relaxor material Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3/9%PbTiO3 has been performed in the VV and VH scattering geometries. The central peak spectrum caused by the polar micro-cluster (PMC) is successfully detected. Especially, the central peak appears clearly in VH scattering spectra but does not in VV scattering spectra in the tetragonal phase. The physical origin of the central peak is discussed in terms of the polarization fluctuation of PMC.
