Abstract:

This article details the linearization of the active contours without gradient model first developed by Tony Chan and Luminita Vese. The numerical discretization is presented with a discussion of consistency, stability and convergence, and the model is tested with several images. Results show that the convergence of the linear method is accurate, fast and robust in the presence of noise.
