Abstract:

There can be no doubt that our profession has changed in the last 60 years and that it will continue to change in the coming decade. We don't always appreciate the extent and significance of those changes, however, from the perspective of our daily lives on the job. Reflecting on where we've come from and where we seem to be headed can be helpful in charting our future state and status.
