Abstract:
Use techniques such as immersion and layering to avoid presenting information in book-like form.Recognize that the underlying structure can assist with or detract from the visitor experience, and that cosmetic fixes such as attractive graphics do not fix a poor underlying structure.Use storytelling techniques to emotionally connect with visitors.Design for the affective (emotional) domain.Use media effectively so that they run within the existing infrastructure and do not interfere with other activities.Develop a variety of meaningful metrics of effectiveness, each addressing a different aspect of quality.Document Type: Research article
