Abstract:

Unlike the writer who enjoys the more flexible boundaries of the print medium, the script writer works within the more restrictive confines of the video medium. For the sake of convenience, these restrictions fall into four basic categories: purpose, time, budget, and resources. These varibles work together to force creation of a document that can be produced. Paradoxically, these boundaries of the imagination exalt and channel creativity rather than debase it.
