A Rehabilitation Educator's Perspective on Merging Accreditation Resources
Mergers of corporations, associations, and other organizations are common in today's world of shrinking resources and rapid change. A merger has been proposed by the Boards of the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) and Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational
Programs (CACREP). The purpose is to strengthen both organizations as they combine resources to be responsive to the needs of their membership and the students served by those programs. This article proposes a process for reviewing the considerations from the perspective of a rehabilitation
educator.
