Diane K. Kjervik, J.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., is professor and associate dean for community outreach and practice in the school of nursing at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She is a member of the board of directors of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA) and has served as a member of the advisory council for the National Center for Nursing Research at NIH. She serves as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Nursing Law and has published numerous articles and presented numerous workshops and seminars dealing with the legal rights and duties of staff nurses, supervisors, and nursing educators.
