Abstract:

Jerelyn Peixoto Weiss, R.N., F.N.P., J.D., is the director of advanced practice nursing at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She was previously the director of the family nurse practitioner program at Columbia University and has practiced primary care for 25 years. She is a member of Memorial Sloan-Kettering's ethics committee and teaches legal issues in health care as an adjunct professor at New York University School of Nursing.
