Structure of binary alkali silicate glasses – structural modifications caused by various alkali ions
A systematic study of binary alkali silicate glass of composition 0.3M2O.0.7SiO2 was performed by means of molecular dynamics with BKS potential. The role of alkali ions from Li up
to Cs in glass is described with the help of PDF, coordination numbers, Q-motifs, ring statistics and Si–O–Si angle distributions.
