Abstract:
The alkaline dissolution behaviour of seaisland type polyester microfibres were successfully monitored using a cationic dye staining method. Weight reduction behaviour of the alkali-treated microfibre fabrics and the treated fabrics stained with cationic dye were investigated in a comparative manner. The termination of dissolution monitored by both methods was also confirmed by scanning electron microscopy. Received: 17 November 2003; Accepted: 16 January 2004Document Type: Regular paper
