Abstract:
Remains of a well preserved juvenile skull of Toxochelys latiremis are described in detail and compared with a juvenile specimen of the closely related turtle Ctenochelys stenoporus. Both juveniles have a similar size and are comparable in the stage of their ontogeny. Many significant osteological differences between these two turtles regarding the quadrate, prootic and dentary are found and summarized here. Keywords: TESTUDINES; CHELONIIDAE; TOXOCHELYS; CTENOCHELYS; UPPER CRETACEOUS; SANTONIUM; NIOBRARA FORMATION; KANSAS
