Abstract:

Remains of a well preserved juvenile skull of Toxochelys latiremis are described in detail and compared with a juvenile specimen of the closely related turtle Ctenochelys stenoporus. Both juveniles have a similar size and are comparable in the stage of their ontogeny. Many significant osteological differences between these two turtles regarding the quadrate, prootic and dentary are found and summarized here.
