THE EFFECTS OF POLITICAL ORIENTATION ON ATTRIBUTIONS OF COWORKER SUCCESS/FAILURE
Abstract:This paper explores the field of organizational politics and its application to worker attributions for coworker performance outcomes. The purpose of this paper is to suggest that worker awareness of political behaviors among their coworkers may provide additional informational cues for the attributions they form for coworker success/failure. It is proposed in this paper that individuals maintain an orientation toward political activity, and that orientation is a source of information for the determination of cause.
