abstract = "Two studies were conducted. Study I tested two hypotheses: there is a positive relationship between proenvironmentalism and need for achievement; there is a positive relationship between proenvironmentalism and a positive attitude toward social welfare. Subjects were 129 undergraduates
and 27 college level students (45 males and 111 females). The hypotheses were generally supported. Study II investigated relationships of proenvironmental attitudes with beliefs facilitating intercultural adjustment and environmental knowledge. Subjects were 96 undergraduates and 26 college
level students (32 males and 88 females). One of the beliefs (belief that national borders are needless) and environmental knowledge was not correlated with proenvironmental attitudes. The other belief that global communities are bound together by common fate was generally correlated with
proenvironmental attitudes.",
