AMERICAN COLLEGE STUDENTS' PROTESTANT ETHIC: A SMALLEST SPACE ANALYSIS
Results are reported of responses of liberal arts undergraduates from three southwest universities and one university in Hawaii to the Mirels-Garrett Protestant Ethic Scale. The findings indicate a moderate endorsement of the scale. Interpretation of the scale using smallest space analysis R-I indicates that the American Protestant Ethic for university students has two major clusters - one emphasizing “work” and the other emphasizing “leisure”.
