Abstract:
The temperature dependence of 14 bands in the liquid cyclohexane Raman spectrum was determined from 229 Raman spectra collected over a temperature range of 7 to 73 degrees C. The changes in band position, width, and area are large enough to significantly affect quantitative analysis using Raman spectroscopy. For example, band area ratios for neat cyclohexane change by as much as 25% over a 60 degrees C temperature range. Mechanisms for the temperature dependence are discussed. Keywords: RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY; TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE; CYCLOHEXANE
