The fluorescence lifetime and oxygen quenching rate for vapor-phase fluoranthene are reported for oxygen pressures up to 5.2 bar and temperatures up to 553 K. The unquenched lifetime is found to be 27 ns at an excitation wavelength of 308 nm. Furthermore, the emission spectrum is shown to be dependent on the oxygen pressure.
