The IR beam traverses through the center of the coiled filament of a General Electric projection lamp, and spectra are taken of the R branch in the fundamental band for the lamp lit from 0 to 148 W, corresponding to filament temperatures of 296-2387 K. Molecular rotational temperatures and absolute HBr densities are then derived from the spectra. The results demonstrate the method to be a useful diagnostic tool for spatially resolved measurements of a key partner in the tungsten halogen cycle.", pages = "398-403", url = "http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/sas/sas/1991/00000045/00000003/art00010", doi = "doi:10.1366/0003702914337191", keyword = "Infrared, Lasers, excimer pumped dye, Raman-shifted visible laser light into IR" }
