Abstract:

Design modifications are presented for a uniform size and trajectory droplet generator useful for the study of interferences and other phenomena in analytical flames. The new design produces stable droplets without drift in size or trajectory and allows adjustment in the drop size by changing the drop production frequency without manual adjustment of the introduction rate timing circuit associated with previous designs. The control circuitry in this design uses easily obtainable and inexpensive digital and analog components. Details of the electronics and mechanical apparatus are included and performance characteristics are discussed.
