Abstract:

Because overlapping Raman bands will, in general, have different depolarization ratios, it is possible to resolve such bands by means of a computer subtraction of the I vh spectrum, scaled by an appropriate constant, from the I vv spectrum. Several examples are given which illustrate both the capabilities and the limitations of the technique.
