Fourier transform techniques in spectroscopy have been shown to offer significant improvements over classical dispersive methods in the study of infrared spectral features both in astronomical measurements and in laboratory studies. These improvements result from now well known principles
including spectral multiplexing, high etendue or throughput, and a significantly improved wave number scale.
The Society publishes the internationally recognized, peer reviewed journal, Applied Spectroscopy, which is available both in print and online. Subscriptions are included with membership or can be purchased by institutional or corporate organizations. Abstracts may be viewed free of charge.
