Recently we reported that some of the charge-transfer bands of CoBr4 = which are ordinarily obscured by the absorption of Br can be resolved in thin films of (Bu4P+)2CoBr4 =.1 Apparently the concentration of free Br is so small under these conditions that it permits the detection of CoBr4 = bands in the same region. Here we note that it is also possible to observe at least the first component of the absorption band of Br by the same technique.
