High-purity silver chloride can be prepared by several methods, but for use as a carrier in spectrochemical analysis, it must be a fine powder. Although several procedures especially designed to produce a finely divided precipitate have been devised, extreme care is required to recover a high percentage of usable silver chloride (1,2).
