Abstract:

This article proposes an expansion of outdoor recreation opportunities to include wilderness areas in which users would bear sole responsibility for their personal welfare. Agencies managing areas designated for full-risk use would be absolved, indeed prohibited, from intervening at any time on behalf of any recreationist in distress.
