Abstract:
The acorn woodpecker (Melanerpes formicivorus) was found to store acorns in the largest pines in two California pine-oak woodlands. Storage trees, which are often snags, are critical to this bird's habitat, and foresters should retain them whenever possible.Document Type: Journal article
