Abstract:

The habitat for deer was evaluated in terms of browse production, shelter value, and deer use in a study of cutting methods in mixed-conifer swamps. Cutting treatments tested were diameter-limit, selection, shelterwood, block, and strip cutting. The requirements for deer were best met by strip cutting.
