abstract = "Insects are among the principal causes of annual fluctuations of forest tree seed crops in natural stands, in plantations, and in seed orchards. The economic impact of seed-destroying insects is greatest in high-value seed orchards of genetically superior trees. The concepts of insect control in seed orchards are compared with insect control in large forested areas. Present methods of seed orchard insect control are described and future control measures are considered.",
