A graphic stand table is developed by plotting the number of trees per acre over d.b.h. Best results are obtained with semilogarithmic paper. When this treatment is applied to an all-sized stand or forest the resulting line is a trace of the de Liocourt curve. The treatment can, however, be used for the whole forest, the individual stands, and each species comprising the forest or the stand. The resulting information is valuable to the forest manager as it presents a picture of the present structure of the forested area enabling him to make decisions regarding acquisition, silvicultural methods, working rules and the allowable cut. In addition, some information on the past history of the stand is available.
