N2 - A dynamic programming algorithm for the optimization of univariate allocation problems is illustrated with a hypothetical maximization problem. Both the quantity to be allocated and the number of recipient locations are finite. The algorithm requires the evaluation of only a fraction of the total number of possible allocation combinations.
