Abstract:

A leaf beetle, Glyptoscelis pubescens F., damaged Virginia and white pine at the Beech Creek Seed Orchard near Murphy, North Carolina. Damage was caused by adult beetles feeding on needles during April, causing them to turn brown. A one percent DDT spray gave successful control of this insect.
