Abstract:
An application of 60 lbs. per acre of Vapam (SMDC, Sodium N-methyldithiocarbamate) produced abnormally large, succulent 3-0 red pine seedlings with totally inadequate root systems, very high top-root and height-diameter ratios, and low specific gravity of stems. The treatment nearly annihilated mycorrhizal short roots and fibrous laterals with resulting 75 percent decrease in the adsorbing capacity (titration value) of roots.Document Type: Miscellaneous
